Acceptance

By using CoffeeTrove ("the platform"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

User Accounts

You may create an account using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. One account per person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Your public profile (display name, username, avatar, reviews, XP, and rank) is visible to other users. You can control what information appears on your profile through your account settings.

Community Guidelines

CoffeeTrove is a community built on honest, helpful contributions. When participating, you agree to:

• Write honest reviews based on your real experience
• Respect other community members and cafe owners
• Submit accurate information about cafes and roasters
• Not post spam, promotional content, or fake reviews
• Not harass, threaten, or impersonate other users
• Not attempt to manipulate scores, rankings, or leaderboards

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines, without prior notice.

Content You Submit

When you submit reviews, photos, cafe suggestions, or other content, you retain ownership of that content. However, you grant CoffeeTrove a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use your submissions on the platform and in promotional materials.

You confirm that any content you submit is your own original work and does not infringe on the rights of others. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from CoffeeTrove
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
• Use CoffeeTrove for any commercial purpose without written permission
• Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions

Intellectual Property

CoffeeTrove, the Golden Drop scoring system, and all original content, design, illustrations, and branding are the property of CoffeeTrove. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our proprietary content without permission.

Golden Drop Scores

Golden Drop Scores are editorial assessments based on research, community feedback, and publicly available information. They are subjective and provided for informational purposes only. Scores do not constitute professional advice. Your experience at any cafe may differ from our assessment.

No cafe, roaster, or brand can pay to influence their Golden Drop Score. See our transparency page for details on how we score.

Disclaimers

CoffeeTrove is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy of cafe information, scores, reviews, or any other content.

Cafe and roaster details (hours, prices, menus, amenities) may change without notice. Always verify directly with the establishment before visiting.

User-submitted content (reviews, cafe suggestions, photos) is reviewed before publication but may contain inaccuracies. CoffeeTrove does not guarantee the accuracy of any user-contributed content.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoffeeTrove is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, inaccurate business information, user-submitted content, service interruptions, or data loss.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms will be resolved in the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.

Changes to Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform. Your continued use of CoffeeTrove after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
